You have just joined the Black Bean Culture and here, we are talking about sandwiches. Hot, cold, basic, fancy — I know I don’t discriminate when it comes to my sub.
I have been obsessed with sandwiches lately. Well, if I have to be honest with myself it is an obsession that is quite like a headache–a light throbbing in the back of my head. If I am craving something, a sandwich will more than likely satisfy such craving but I don’t want a basic cheese sandwich. I want like artichokes, sauteed red peppers, sauteed mushrooms. I want my sub with some love in it. I want layers and patterns in my subs like the layers and patterns my hippie ass be wearing.
I suppose you think I put a lot of time thinking about sandwiches. And you will be right. It is just that lately, I have not been satisfied with food. I assume there are people who don’t think that deeply about their food. It’s often– I need food, these are my favorites, and I will just have one of these. It might even be a lot simpler than that. I need to eat…THAT looks like food.
I don’t know how I lost my appetite. I love food and I still believe in that love. Perhaps it is my own fault. I have a way with loving things to death. I treat the things I love like the radio treats out favorite songs. I overplay it.
But good news, I don’t need a, “sorry for your loss.” I found the answer.
Sandwiches is the only thing that doesn’t get old. There are endless possibilities. It’s also fast for those of us who are always in a hurry.
However, It is hard to find a good sandwich shop at least a sandwich shop that has some vegetarian options–and that is options with an “S”. One of my favorites was jimmy johns–the secret…it’s all in the bread. However, I have not found another favorite in the Los Angeles area yet. I am open to suggestions if you want to drop it in the comment section.
For those of you who have not seen the light in great sandwiches, next time try to take the time to put together an amazing sandwiches; one that has you thinking there is nothing better or one that has you feeling like you now ready to take on the world.
You know, it’s the little things that matter. Hey, you gotta take the win when you can–even if the win is as small and simple as a good sandwich. And however you get the win, most people are in no position to be picky right?
Try a good sandwich!
